There is a reason for every bad feeling. Bad feeling often help protect your wellbeing. Bad feelings often urge you to avoid things that are bad for you. If you feel afraid of an angry dog (for example) you might feel the urge to run away from it. If you feel disgusted at the smell of rotten food, you will pull away.
If you can find the cause of unhappiness, you can try to do something about it.
Once you know what is causing your unhappiness, you can try to do something about it. Fixing problems is often very difficult and it pays to be careful. People sometimes make themselves less happy when they try to fix a problem that is impossible to fix.
Sometimes the best way of fixing the cause of your unhappiness is to walk away from the person or situation.
Happy people often spend time and effort trying to find and do things that make them feel happy. Happy people often concentrate on pleasurable feelings (on savouring the test of their favourite food or drink, for example).
Happy people often work hard to make sure that all of their basic needs are met and held in their in balance.
You can learn to reduce bad feelings. You can learn to allow good feelings to grow inside of you.
